Tucked away at the top of Pinner Hill surrounded by rolling parkland and mature woods - the peaceful atmosphere will make you feel a million miles from North West London's suburbia.Pinner Hill Golf Club was formed in 1928 at the instigation of Mr F L Griggs who became the club's first President. The course was designed in 1927 by J H Taylor and, apart from minor improvements since that time the layout of the course is still that of the renowned golf architect. The Clubhouse, which is a Grade II listed building dates from 1785 in the early Georgian era with alterations undertaken in the Regency and Victorian periods. There are many interesting architectural items to be seen as you wander around the house, the chimneys are beautiful with each one different from the others. There is also a brick dome on the way down to the 1st and 10th tees which is the original ice house. This is one of the best preserved examples of an ice house remaining in the South East today and is a listed monument in its own right. When in use large blocks of ice taken from local ponds during winter would be stored down there for later use. The course is constructed on mature, wooded and undulating parkland. It measures 6393 yards from the back tees and has a Men's SSS of 71 (73 for Ladies). It has spectacular views to the South and East, and from the 7th green you can see right across London to Canary Wharf, the London Eye, the Post Office Tower and the new Wembley Stadium. The front nine has plenty of space with wide fairways. Great for driving where you can open the shoulders. The back nine however is much tighter and accuracy is key as it winds its way through the woods. Recent investment in an entire fleet of new Toro Machinery coupled with a handpicked team of course staff, who hail from courses such as Ladybank and St Andrew's Bay, demonstrates the club's commitment to raise the standard of golf at Pinner Hill to new heights. This commitment is now evident in the quality and presentation of what was already a wonderful course. Not only have the practice facilities been refurbished but there are now twice as many nets available for golfers to warm up in before their round. Then two nine hole loops of mature, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens await you. New and re-sculptured bunkers across the course will provide new challenges for even the most regular of visitors to Pinner Hill. Pace of life at Pinner is somewhat more subdued than that of the surrounding London environment. So after the golf is done, there's plenty of time to enjoy a drink in the fully refurbished Spike Bar which overlooks both the 9th and 18th Greens. Our caterers will happily accommodate the dining requirements of any visiting societies, from simple sandwiches and chips to a full traditional carvery in the 18th century, wood panelled dining room.Contact the club on the details below to have them tailor your day specifically to your needs
